Our Story: 50 Years of Passion and Expertise in Knife Sharpening

My journey into knife sharpening began nearly 50 years ago. My grandfather and uncle, who worked as carpenters (later, I joined them as well), constantly needed razor-sharp cutting tools – knives, chisels, and other instruments. As a young boy, I watched in awe as they transformed dull blades into sharp tools by rubbing them against a stone. It seemed like magic. My grandfather taught me early on that using a dull knife is more likely to result in injury than using a sharp one, sparking a lifelong fascination with sharpening.

Under my grandfather’s and uncle’s guidance, I learned the proper way to hold a knife, the right movements to use, and the importance of maintaining the correct sharpening
angle. I discovered that every knife – whether it’s a chef’s knife or a hunting knife – requires a unique approach and precision.

Over the years, my experience grew. At first, I sharpened knives for my own use. Later, friends, hunting companions, and acquaintances who relied on sharp knives for their work started seeking my help. With the advent of the internet, I also explored international knife-sharpening techniques and tools used in different cultures.
